Back to Basics Fall MTB Clinic Series

Fall is the best time of the year to ride mountain bikes.  The temps are cool, the trails become tacky, and popular trails are quiet.  These three sessions are designed for intermediate riders to progress their foundational bike handling skills to ride challenging terrain features with confidence and more speed.

Clinics are $15 each or $40 for the series.  REGISTER HERE  But don’t wait, my clinics fill up fast and are limited to 12 riders.

Back to Basics MTB Clinic Series

Join Coach Emma Maaranen for 1.5 hr clinics in August to build and hone your mountain bike skill! We’ll spend the first 30 min doing confidence and skill building drills in a nearby parking lot and then use the following hour to put those new skills to direct use on the trails around COCC.

Beverly gets airClass 1: Body position (“attack” position, up, down, steep down, and over rock gardens) and smart braking (looking ahead to brake less, body position to brake decisively, and momentum management)

Class 2: Cornering (flow, burms, off camber/ loose, switchbacks up and down)

Class 3: Beginning obstacles (step-ups, drops, up-and-overs, line selection) – no drops or obstacles over 6 just heavy/light and body positioning.

These three, 1.5 hr sessions on August 8, 16, and 24, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30pm are designed for experienced cyclists new to mountain biking and intermediate riders wanting to dial their fundamental skills. We will meet at Sunnyside Sports in Bend, OR then ride together to the Culinary Institute at COCC. The cost is $15 for each clinic, or register for all three for $40.  Clinics are limited to 12 riders, so don’t delay.  (These clinics typically fill up in a few days.) Register here.
